Syrah, Boushey-McPherson Vyd., 2006

$46.00 (library)

This Yakima Valley hillside vineyard, at 1300 ft. elevation, is one of the highest in the valley.  It is farmed by Dick Boushey, whose reputation for producing world-class Syrah is already well established.  Dick’s expert water management produces uncommonly small berries for Syrah, concentrating the flavor and color in the wine.  This fruit is usually the last Syrah we harvest.  Excellent extended hang time produces a wine of exceptional complexity, depth and substance.

Winemaker’s Notes:

Aromas of toast and crème brulée; stylish tannins with blackberry and plum flavors; background of tar, roses, cola, cassis and mocha.
