Chardonnay, 2006 - SOLD OUT

RiverAerie Chardonnay captures the essence on the Chardonnay grape without masking it with heavy oak. We ferment the juice in small tanks and bottle it early to accentuate the fresh fruit. The result is  bright, crisp and refreshing, not heavy or cloying. The grapes for this bottling come from two vineyards which complement each other and produce a more balanced wine. One is the Evergreen Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes region of the Columbia Valley. We prefer this vineyard for many of our white wines because cool nighttime temperatures help to preserve the natural acidity in the grapes and because of the high limestone content of the soil which imparts a slight mineral quality to the wines. The other vineyard is called Uplands in the Yakima Valley. The Chardonnay from this vineyard has fragrant tropical and stone fruit aromas and flavors.

Winemaker’s Notes:

Light yellow in color; citrus, banana, pear and apricot aromas; flavors of lemon zest, apricot and jicama. Crisp and light on the palate.
