Pinot Gris, 2006 - SOLD OUT
Our RiverAerie Pinot Gris is from the Evergreen Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes region of the Columbia Valley. We prefer this vineyard for many of our white wines because cool nighttime temperatures help to preserve the natural acidity in the grapes and because the high limestone content of the soil imparts a slight mineral quality to the wines. The Pinot Gris is bottled within six months of harvest to capture the ester aromas and fresh fruit flavors. We try to minimize the impact of the winemaker on the RiverAerie white wines, so the natural varietal characteristics can predominate.
Winemaker’s Notes:
Vanilla bean, peach skins, honeysuckle and lemon zest aromas; crisp on the palate, with a slightly tart lemon zest flavor, fleshy in the mid-palate with a lingering mineral quality.
