Overlooking the Columbia River just east of the Columbia Gorge is the exciting AVA of Horse Heaven Hills. It is a diverse appellation, shaped predominatly by the great Missoula floods. Wind and the elements play a definitive role in the character of the wines produced here. This Syrah fruit came from two sources, Discovery Vineyard located on a high bluff overlooking the Columbia River and Rob Andrew's vineyards, near McKinley Springs in the northern quadrant of the AVA. This Syrah is bold and demonstrative, with incredible color, substantial tannins, and plenty of aging potential

 

Winemaker's Notes:

Stylish yet powerful in structure, this Syrah has aromas of cassis and earth, dark fruit flavor predominate including blackberry
