Mourvedre, Northridge Vyd., 2007

$42.00 (library)

Northridge Vineyard is situated on the western edge of Saddle Mountain in the Wahluke Slope. This warm site provides the heat needed to ripen Mourvedre successfully. Still, it is always one of the last lots to come into the winery. Patience is required to develop the characteristic white pepper spice of this variety. Those who wait are rewarded with an aromatic complexity evocative of the wonderful country wines of Provence.

Winemaker’s Notes:

Aromas of white pepper and grapefruit pith; Soft tannins are the hallmark of this medium bodied wine; complex flavors of cassis and Rainier cherries, white pepper, star anise with a hint of grapefruit rind.
