Viognier, Talcott Vyd., 2006 - SOLD OUT

2006 Bunnell Family Cellar Talcott Vineyard Viognier (Columbia Valley), $20
Score: 88
Stainless fermented, finished in neutral barrels. Talcott is a warm site, which produces a completely different expression of the grape from the winery’s other Viognier. In fact, this is more like a ripe, rich Chardonnay, buttery and round, with toast and butterscotch flavors supporting the tight, citrus (lime, grapefruit) edge. — P.G

The Bunnell Family Cellar 2006 Viognier, Talcott Vineyard, Wahluke Slope, $20
One Cluster
Brooding and toasty tones of melon, caramel, and vanilla introduce this substantial Viognier. Viscous on the tongue and redolent of ripe peach and red apple, with touches of vanilla crème and caramel, this wine is distinctly mouth-coating. Decent acidity lifts the weight a bit, and the finish is bright and fruity. Serve with swordfish in lemon butter sauce. (137 case made.)
